What are some of the benefits of talking to a g2g Coach? How does this compare to other resources?
Coaches have an understanding of business, culture, processes, and goals, and are a nice complement to existing online resources, trainings, and ,manager-led development conversations.
Many tech workers welcome the opportunity to speak with a neutral third party, and this program offers you the opportunity to do that. These conversations are meant to support, but not replace a conversation with your manager.
-
Are the coaching sessions confidential?
Coaching session are confidential unless there is illegal activity or imminent risk of harm to self or others.
-
How does this program differ from mentoring or coaching?
These resources differ in terms of length of engagement, level of training, and availability:
Mentoring is an ongoing relationship where the mentee seeks specific advice, experiences and expertise from the mentor. Mentors may or may not be trained in 1:1 conversation and coaching skills, and are available to anyone at Google.
Coaching is ongoing relationship with professionally trained and certified coaches. Coaches guide you to solutions by empowering you to think differently about issues through powerful questions and reflective listening, rather than advice.
What Entrepreneurs Are Saying
“I seek Eboni's entrepreneurship-focused coaching because of her keen discernment and graceful explanations. When Eboni provides advice, she focuses on my needs, not my wants. Specifically, when my startup team faced organizational challenges, Eboni shared multi-dimensional wisdom relating to both her personal and professional experiences in the venture space. Moreover, she approaches problems with a friendly yet firm approach that relays confidence and compassion.
Finally, Eboni truly cares about each member of her inner network as both leaders and individuals- by asking the why of our decisions and helping us come to the how of remediation, she helps entrepreneurs like me forge the best path forward for ourselves and our companies. Eboni's mentorship and friendship have been invaluable in the past and will continue to be impactful in the future. If you're an early/mid-stage entrepreneur in need of a clever, kind, strategic advisor, you couldn't find anyone better than Eboni!”
— Farah Al Chammas, Founder @ Okel
“Eboni is my aspiring and knowledgeable mentor. When leading Ability Enabled, she demonstrates big-picture view and a detail-oriented mind. She not only set up and keep motivated us to achieve milestones, she also set up meeting agenda to make best use of everyone's time. She is always eager for new resources and never afraid to push the boundaries. Her courage and strong ability to take challenges motivate me both professionally and personally. She is not only satisfied for and limited to gaining her personal growth, she also shows great strength helping others. For example, she would send me many articles related to my professional interest after I briefly mentioned it. She always tells "you can do it", to me and other teammates, so we could be our best. I feel so blessed to know her and I am sure you would enjoy working with her as well.”
— Amanda Li, X-Founder @ Ability Enabled
“I am a Scientist who had an idea to connect scientists with research resources. I founded SciFlows to catalyze the connection between Scientists and research resources. Eboni has been my Pitch Coach on this startup journey. Working with Eboni has been nothing but transformational. She has helped me reframe SciFlows's value proposition and deliver it in a way anyone can understand. I have been able to break out of my scientific and technical jargon and has enabled me to present SciFlows in new ways that could not have been possible without her coaching.
Her strategies to help me unpack the story about SciFlows are very innovative but very methodical. My confidence in Ebony is well placed. I unreservedly recommend her to anyone who is trying to figure out how to reimagine and communicate the value proposition of their innovative ideas to the general public and to investors.”
— Claudius Mundomo, Founder @ SciFlows
What Early-Career Folks Are Saying
“Eboni has been a big part of my journey to obtaining an internship in California. One thing that stood out the most to me was how quickly she responded to all of my emails. She is amazing at effectively communicating details in a timely manner. I remember calling her “Ms Eboni” the first time I emailed her and she told me to just call her Eboni. That made me feel very comfortable and relaxed while communicating with her. It took a few weeks to hear back from my internship so I would email her with questions and concerns and she always reassured me that I was going to be okay and that I was a great candidate. I received my offer and immediately sent her an email thanking her for encouraging me to stay patient and uplifting me in the process.”
— Nepri James, ServiceNow Intern
“Eboni coached and provided advice through my recruiting process for an internship. Her information was valuable for an interview, and I truly appreciate Eboni's advice.”
